Cosplay Starts Here

Hi! I'm still a newbie here in Blogger. I came up with the idea to start a blog because I'd like to keep record on what's been happening in my life and to rant about things I like.

So my first blog post is gonna be about how I got into cosplaying.

That hobby never came to mind before. I was just your typical otaku who fangirls over various anime and manga. I never thought of dressing up as my favorite characters.

Until when I started spazzing over Vampire Knight, particularly the character Yuuki Cross.

She was my first waifu. The character design is so cool especially the uniform. I get sometimes annoyed by the eyes, though. But other than that, I was so in love with the uniform. But then I thought, "Cosplay would probably cost a lot, huh." I was still a 14-year-old who was so clueless about that hobby so I just dropped the thought right away.

Near the end of my sophomore year, all of us second years were given a project which was an activity called the Asian Festival wherein each section must represent their assigned Asian country. Our section was assigned to represent Japan. I was fangirling over the good news because, dude, it's Japan. Our class secretary then asked if it'd be okay with me to be in the cosplay committee. "This could be my chance," I thought. I told her I'd love to but I had to ask Mom first. With that said, she put me in the pending list. I went home immediately after classes ended and talked to Mom about the cosplay thing. She contemplated on it for a while before she nodded and told me that I could cosplay with her handling the expenses. I was having a hard time containing my happiness. I'm so blessed to have a supportive mom like her.

The Asian Festival was a blast and I had so much fun dressing up as someone else. My very first cosplay was Yuuki Cross and here are the only decent pictures I have from the event:

I know the headband was unnecessary, but I thought it was cute so I asked my classmate if I could wear it for the whole event since she wasn't using it. If you want to know what manga I'm reading in the 2nd pic, it's School Rumble vol. 3.

A year after, I decided to cosplay her again for old times sake.

Let's just consider this as a Yuuki Kuran cosplay since my hair got longer. :v

So this is it for my first cosplay experience. I'm gonna be posting more adventures in the coming days as well as throwback stuff. 'Til the next post!
